Hi, I’m Ashley. It’s so nice to meet you!
While I’m new to Solace, I have been a practicing nurse practitioner for a few years and have been a nurse for 18 years. My nursing career began in high school, where I earned my Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) license and furthered my education by becoming a registered nurse (RN). I continued working as a nurse for many years before returning to school to become a family nurse practitioner.
I’ve spent several years working in the mental health field throughout my nursing career. I stumbled into this specialty after pursuing a passion for addiction medicine, where I spent about 6 years working as a registered nurse in both inpatient and outpatient settings. While working closely with individuals who were struggling with substance use disorders, I discovered my passion for working with those affected by mental health issues, as well. I eventually decided to further my education and returned to school to become a family nurse practitioner. I graduated from Simmons University in March 2020 with my Master of Science in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner degree. Shortly after beginning my family nurse practitioner program, I knew I’d return to school (yet, again!) to earn my Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certificate, as I felt drawn to psychiatry and mental health. I graduated from Liberty University’s PMHNP program in August of 2022 and began working at Solace shortly after.
My goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable discussing your mental health concerns and to break the stigma that often prevents us from doing so. I strive to provide compassionate, quality care to address your mental health needs safely and effectively.
I am currently accepting new patients with a variety of mental health concerns including, but not limited to, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, depressive disorders, seasonal affective disorder, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar spectrum disorders, schizophrenia, etc. I am currently working with adult clients only but hope to expand my practice to work with children and adolescents in the future (stay tuned!).
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I hope to meet you soon!
